As we walked, I found myself clutching His pantleg. I didn't really need to, because He was holding on to me, and I knew I would be safe wherever we went, and whatever we did, but I was quite comfortable being so close to Him. While we walked, I watched Jesus heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, give sight to the blind, open the ears of the deaf, and the mouths of the dumb, and perform many other such miracles. Whenever He would complete His work, He would pat me on the head, and say: "Good job son!" I wondered why He said such things . . . When we arrived at the end of the block, I couldn't stand it any longer. "Lord," I said "I didn't do any of those things, You did!" At this He smiled a knowing smile, nodded His head, and said: "I know, but don't you see, we are a team!" We are humbled to know that our God is not afraid to include us in what He is doing. Our part is simple: pray, asking what He would have us to do. Then, when we believe we have understood, do what we believe He has told us to do. When we get it wrong, as we sometimes do, pray again, and repeat the process all over again! Since our God uses everything, even our mistakes for good, we simply cannot fail!
